penghu county of taiwan is made up of many islands, of which
transportation from taipei to penghu
i took a train cum ferry return journey from taipei to penghu which cost me S$150 for just a 2 nights stay which isn't a good deal consider it average out to 75S$ of transportation cost per night

it would have been better if I had stayed for 5 nights (average 30S$ of transportation cost) as penghu has so much to offer.

fly from taipei to magong airport
transportation within penghu
in magong city, take the penghu public bus originating from magong bus station
google maps - the directions going from A to B around penghu are pretty accurate; arrival time and service number; except for the duration of journey. For example, The time taken for a journey ride from magong A journey from magong city bus station to fenggui cave is stated as

alternative options (which I am not into)
- rent a scooter or car;
- rent a elecric scooter which doesn't require an international driving license
hotel accomodation
- stay at King Lin Hotel at Magong City for 50S$ per night (+10% tax and fee which I don't know goes to who); google map searched and booked through trip.com.
- this hotel is obviously good value for money in a tourist town
- BUT the lift landing is on the 2nd floor. You need to hand carry your luggage up two short flight of steep steps to get to the 2nd floor from the small lobby counter
- the S$50 room is real SMALL
- we also had a bad experience with the WC plumbing on the last day which is too
where to eat
expect the price of food in penghu to be taipei like rather than say chiayi like, because its

penghu have a spetaculaar yearly fireworks festival for a stretch of days (link), so its obvious to
come to think of it, country road, no reckless or aggressive driving like taipei, electric scooter - no need license. cost
but you can always take public bus transport around; penghu is a tourist county (there are growing of crops as well)
